If you're here looking for some good writing, close the tab right now. This is a blog that started off as a writing solace and instead turned into a place to rant off about anything and everything. So, this is going to be an awful lot of just penning down my thoughts, and then deciphering the confusion in emotions, with a not-so-gloomy outlook, or an ambivalent ending, if not a total-downer one.
Peace out. You've been warned.

A Mother's Love- Inspirational Story

This is a very inspirational story that I read on www.mind-press.blogspot.com , do read it.

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:
For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75
Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge
For all the nights that I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge
For all the trying times, and all the tears that you’ve caused through the years:
No Charge
For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge
For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge
Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.
When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL”.
Lessons:
You will never how much your parents worth till you become a parent
Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot to give, besides money.
Advice: If your mom is alive and close to you, give her a big kiss and ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. if she passed away, pray for her.

'I'll take up your offer,' I announced to the stationmaster.
You know how they say when life gives you lemons make lemonade. Well, here was another chance for me to go to Carney.  If the wedding was being postponed, I decided I would make the most of it. I mean, if I already was travelling across the grand United States of America, I might as well take advantage of it, right? I didn't know when I'd get the chance to go on such a trip again and who knew? maybe I'll find my inner charisma or something. I smirked at that thought.
'Okay, hold on a sec,' Mr. Brandon the station master replied.
He dialed someone's number and started talking. Meanwhile, I looked around. His office was very casual: a filing cabinet, a few shelves behind his straight front desk.
'Today's your lucky day, Alexandra' he told me, which brought my attention back to him.
'Yeah? Why is that?'
'Because there is a bus that leaves for Arkansas tomorrow. You can pick one of the two routes; either Tennessee or Missouri, once you get there.'
'Okay, and then what?'
'Then you go your own way. There are only two seats left, you can take a friend of yours if you want, but you'll have to tell me now.'
Knowing that I would not get a better chance, I agreed.
'The bus leaves sharp at six. Remember if you're late again, I won't be able to help you,' he replied, laughing.
I grinned.
'Don't worry, you won't have to,' I replied and walked out of his office.
When I came out, blue-eyed guy was still there. I rolled my eyes. Either that guy is a stalker or he is seriously bored to death and has nothing better to do. I picked up my bag and started walking outside, towards my car. I decided I would rest for a while at home, and then I would call Lexie. A lot of work needed to be done: packing more durable clothes, unpacking the "fancy frilly" ones, deciding on the route, and so on. But the very first thing that I would do I decided, as I started my car, was that I would charge my mobile.
.......................................................................................

The first thing I did when I reached my two-bedroom apartment was charge my mobile. Then I plopped onto the sofa and grabbed the cordless phone. I dialed Lexie's number; I knew it by heart. Lexie is my childhood best friend. We've been best friends ever since she punched Dave for stealing my lunch box in grade one.
'Hi Lex.'
'Hey, Alex, how come you're calling from your house number?'
'Long story. In short, I missed the train and had a change of plans.'
'No kidding, seriously?'
'Yeah. Any way, are you up for a trip?'
'Where to?'
'I'll tell you when you come here.'
‘And when will that be' she asked, confused.
'In fifteen minutes,' I replied in my most serious tone.
'But I'm not even ready yet,' she replied, laughing.
'I don't care. This is important, so hurry up'
'Okay, fine, give me twenty minutes and I'll be there,' Lexie replied, and with that she hung up the phone.
I got up and started searching for online maps, and that was when I suddenly got an idea. It was the perfect plan, and it was just what I needed. I closed my laptop and went in my room, towards my closet. I opened it, searching for my hiking gear. This is going to be an exciting trip I thought.

'ALEXANDRA BRIAN AIDEN, YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!' she screamed at the top of her lungs. This was exactly why I didn't want to tell her; she had already been worried about my late arrival. I was sure she would be hysterical now, and honestly, I didn't even know what to say. So I didn't reply back.

'ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? I don't care what it freakin' takes. You are coming to the wedding, AND DON'T YOU DARE GIVE ME SOME DAMN EXCUSE. I don't care how or by what means, but you should be here by tommorow.'
I still didn't say anything. After all, what was I supposed to say? A few more minutes, and my battery would soon be dead. She was still screaming, so I had to hold the phone a few inches back. I mean seriously, all this noise was beginning to get annoying.
I got that she was angry; I just didn't get why she had to scream like hell about it. I mean, it's not like she would cancel her wedding for me, right?
'Alex?' Grace asked, her tone now finally back to normal. Sometimes, I wonder how someone so soft spoken can make noise that sounds like monkeys screeching.
'Yeah?'
'You will make it to the wedding right?'
'I don't know Grace, I really don't know. I'll try my best, but if I can't make it, I guess you'll have to make Crystal your bridesmaid,' I replied, and with that my phone went dead. I looked at it angrily and threw it in my bag. I looked around. Blue-eyed Guy was still there, leaning casually against the wall ; he was still looking at me. I rolled my eyes and went to the station master. there had to be a solution, right? This situation really reminded me of a movie scene, I couldn't remember which movie, but I do remember that a girl misses her train, so some guy takes her home, they fall in love, the end. I laughed, I laughed at that so-typical cliche. Things like that didn't happen in real life. If someone offered to take me home, I would call the police. With those thoughts in my mind, I walked towards the station master, hoping he could help me.

1 hour later

'So you're telling me the only way I can go to Carney all the way here from Texas is by crossing Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin? I don't have the time to go on a road trip crossing half of America!' I shrieked.
'I'm sorry, miss, but shouting won't solve your problem,' he replied calmly. Maybe he was used to dealing with frantic and panicking people.
'And following your advice will?' I asked sarcastically, lowering my voice.
'It might. I mean, sure it's going to cost a lot but in your case, I think it's the most feasible option'
I rolled my eyes. Yeah, really feasible, I thought glumly.
'Can I use your phone?'
'Yeah, sure, here you go'
I took it and dialed my sister's number.
'Grace?'
'No, this is Rebecca. Her friend'
Rebecca was Grace's best friend. I wondered why it has her and not Grace who had received the call.
'Hey, Beckie, this is Alex.'
'Alex? I didn't recognize your voice, and did you change your number?'
'No, actually I'm using someone else's mobile because my phone's dead. Anyway, where's Grace?'
'You don't know? Oh of course, you don't, your phone's dead. Grace is with Sean. His uncle Louis just passed away, and we got the news an hour ago.'
OH MY GOD. Uncle Louis was Sean's favorite uncle. He always talking about him, how his Uncle was proud of Sean for having found the perfect girl. He was going to come from- I don't know- Ohio I guess. Sean must be really shocked.
'OH MY GOD, that's horrible. how did it happen?'
'He had a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital, but by that time it was too late.'
'I'm so sorry. So how's Sean doing?'
'Not so good, actually. The wedding's been postponed for at least two weeks now; he and Grace are flying to Ohio for the funeral.'

I grinned. I mean I know it's sad that his Uncle passed away, but I felt relief.
I quickly said bye to her and returned the mobile back
'I'll take up your offer' I replied to the Station Master

II

He handed me a small black diary that looked exactly like the one my grandfather had given meI opened it, and instantly recognized the writing on it. It said:

" Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life'longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."

          and below that,

                       For my darling Alexandra

My grandfather was passionate about poetry and these were some verses from his all time favorite poem Children. Now I could go on and on saying why this diary is important to me, but I'll spare the details for now and summarize it by saying it's important because my late grandfather gave it to me.
"Yeah it's mine, thanks" I replied smiling.
"You dropped it in your hurry to catch the train, but seeing that you're still here, I assume you missed it?" he asked
"You assumed right" I agreed woefully.
"Where were you going anyways?"
"Carney"
He chuckled.
"Why in the world would you want to go there"
"I don't see how that's any of your business" I replied and walked away.
But soon enough, I heard footsteps. I guess he wasn't going to leave me alone. But right now I didn't have time to waste on him. I had other things on my mind, the most important of which was calling my sister.
I looked at my mobile, and dialed  my sister's number.
" Grace?"
"Hey Alex, what's up"
"Nothing really, except there's a little problem" I replied meekly, because I know she was going to get frantic now.
"What happened?" she asked suspiciously.
"Remember I told you I was going to come by train? Yeah, well see there's been a little problem"
She didn't say anything, so I continued.
"Well there was like this major accident on the road, no casualties I guess, but anyway, so then there was like this um, like huge traffic jam, and I like got really held up and umm, I like missed the train, so like I'm stuck here, and like I just quit my job, and my phone's battery is like about to be dead, and I like don't know what to do"
I don't think I've ever used "like" so much before, but I was just so nervous.
"ALEXANDRA BRIAN AIDEN..."

Chapter 1

Oh no, it was already eight. That was the first thought that came to my mind when I looked at the clock in the railway station. I had already missed the train and now very soon, the last bus to leave the city would depart as well. "cat, mingle bat, cherry tree, sunny sky" I kept repeating these words so I wouldn't get a panic attack. I kept repeating them over and over until my breathing returned to normal, and I could finally think again. well more clearly then before I mean.
Oh man, I've really screwed up big this time. Tomorrow is my sister's wedding and I just missed the last train to Carney, no wait correction, the only train to Carney. In case you're wondering where on that is, it's a village in Menominee County of the U.S. state of Michigan, with a population of merely 225. Leave it to my sister to find the perfectly hidden place for her wedding . I'm not saying I'm not happy for her, of course I am, but being the uniquely weird person that she is, she chose a village called Carney which is more than a thousand miles away from Houston. All of our family members and distant relatives had already arrived there last week by air. That leaves me, I guess there's nothing I can do.
Honestly, it's not even my fault. I mean it's not my problem that my autocratic boss didn't give me a leave for my sister's wedding, I had quit my job. All thanks to my sister, who would just not listen to any excuse, her emotional blackmailing was one of the reasons why I took such a drastic measure. Besides, I was also getting sick of that job, I was working part time in an architectural firm while studying in texas A &M uni. But my semester had just ended and I had holidays, so I was really hyped up about my sister's wedding.
"hey listen..." some one asked me. I jumped back startled and looked up.
It was a guy who looked like he was eighteen, had black hair with blue highlights and bangs that perfectly fell above his eyes. He had the most gorgeous blue eyes I had ever seen, a mixture of navy blue and gray. Wearing a black cap under his grey hoodie and black baggie jeans, he had the typical skater boy look.
'Yeah?'
'I think this belongs to you'
He handed me something that looked like a small black diary.
